Nick Swardson's Pretend Time Review aka "Peeus" VIDEO

Another lolcat for Category:Rouge admins and a...Image via Wikipedia
If you like Adult Late Night Comedy, and really really raunchy humor... you'll enjoy this immensely. Be prepared, though, it's not for the faint of heart or weak-stomached... and I do not recommend it for children.

For me, however, it's a LMAO good time. Remember, laughter boosts the immune system.

Available now as a Netflix Instant Play.

Here's a sample (Please DON'T WATCH this if you are not agreeable to all of the above!):

Movie Reviews: "Organizm" Sci Fi Horror Films

Cover of "Organizm"Cover of Organizm
This movie's fairly recent, 2008, and is probably a B+ film, but I found it quite entertaining actually. In fact, I was  on the edge of my seat at times... there were moments when it was even AWESOME (like when they find the tank and also the opening scene with the bullet that pierces both the BLANK and the BLANK)! Gruesome.

And don't miss the BLOOD scene. OMG. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there. But, really, did we need to see her breasts? Plus... the closing sequence is delightfully grotesque. All in all it was a bit cliche but still a whole lotta fun.

The lead character (the talented Johnathon Schaech as Frank Sears) is a look-a-like for Peter Gallagher (from one of my favorite films of all time: "Summer Lovers"). For Peter Gallagher images CLICK HERE.

I haven't talked about it in a while. So I just wanted to mention that, although Sci Fi/Horror Movie Reviews and fitness may seem a world apart. They're actually not. It was upon my PTSD counselor's prodding that I began watching horror films. I had been avoiding them... anything scary at all. But she insisted that it would be good for my mental health, as "desensitization" therapy.

And indeed it has been. I am less easily startled and have fewer "trigger words" (particular words that would set off a panic attack/episode). I have become desensitized with the added bonus of discovering that I really enjoy this genre for its entertainment value.

Martial Arts Movie Reviews: "Champion" a Korean Boxing Film

Bruce LeeImage via Wikipedia
First of all, let me just say that I have this thing for Asian men (don't tell my husband). It all started with Bruce Lee in Return of the Dragon when I was 13 years old. It's what inspired me to start training in martial arts.

The leading actor in this film, playing Deuk-gu Kim (World Lightweight Boxing Champ of Korea), reminds me of Bruce Lee (he's gorgeous and talented both).

Well, enough of that. It also delights me, now, that we are an international culture and I get to see how others have lived their lives in foreign countries, the cultural differences (like beaten for losing AND beaten for winning? - you'll see what I mean. I think this movie is a treasure.

It's the usual "from rags to riches" story. But this time it's about a Korean boxer. Frankly, in my ignorance I thought boxing was just an American thing. Not so. Korea doesn't just produce Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido champions. No. It gives us World Champion Boxers (and, as I recall, some phenomenal Olympic athletes as well).

And I love this boxer's style: He doesn't give them time to think. It's just flurry, flurry, flurry.

Favorite Line:
"The winning team will get 20 roasted chicken!"

Favorite Scene:
The drunken exchange.

And The SONG.

I didn't fully read the intro, so I was a bit shocked by the ending. I recommend letting yourself be surprised too.

Sub-titled but worth it.

P.S. As a Karate-ka, I was never that crazy about boxing. It just seemed illogical to not use your legs too. And what about blocking? It is clearly more about taking a punch than blocking one.

Still, you have to admire the sport and those who are bold and brave enough to practice it... the same holds true for MMA competitors. Props.

Hey, I saw this LIVE in 1975 (started my martial arts training in '73)!

John Belushi was a comic force to be reckoned with and worth remembering. Hope you enjoy this. Sorry about the poor resolution. Couldn't find better.

That's a real sword, by the way. Watch for the tomato slice!
