VIDEO You're the BEST Nothing's Gonna Keep You Down

YOU'RE THE BEST Nothing's Ever Gonna Keep You Down:

Joe Esposito's 'You're The Best' from Karate Kid soundtrack.

On a personal note:
I'm really needing this video right now. I recently got a "great job". But it's a BAD schedule, one that is keeping me from my yoga and martial arts classes. I've applied for going part-time (which is an opening I should have waited for in the first place). But these days you don't turn down job offers, especially after months without work. My thought was 'If I could just get my foot in the door'. So now I'm receiving a paycheck but I'm depressed. I guess I have no choice but to be patient.

Frankly, I'd rather be drawing caricatures (funny faces) for tourists in paradise.

Movie Reviews: "Exam" Sci Fi Suspense Drama Cerebral

The Getty of Science FictionImage by Rennett Stowe via Flickr
First of all, just to get started... let me express my personal opinion that men should NOT wear shiny pointy shoes EVER... not even gay men (the first scene - watch for it).

This is a weird little movie but kinda fun.

I adore cerebral Sci Fi's and this one did not disappoint. At first I thought, I know this is going to be so predictable.

The group WAS a lesson in stereo-typing, after all:
1. The handsome blond male narcissist (my husband has coined a new term: ARSE-cissist. It be-suits so many more of us).
2. A man so depressed that they nickname him "Death" (which is a glorious twist).
3. A black man throws the first punch.
4. The pretty blond girl is the one flirted with.
5. The brunette with the glasses is a scientist.
6. The persian looking man is a terrorist?! Hated that part. Just not right.
7. The asian is the first with an answer.
8. The kind woman is deceived.

Some good lines:
"Is this the ultimate Mind Fk or what?!"
"I will tolerate anyone but the intolerant"
"At their level, money ceases to be the prime motivator. It's risk they live for."

I most definitely differ with Peter Hall, though (his blog is where I found this movie as one of the Best of 2010). I think the ending was surprising and SUPERB. Worth all the agony of the one-room scene (which Peter finds enjoyable, by the way). Very odd.

See Peter's reviews at :
http://blog.moviefone.com/

Note: As I said, I found this in Peter's Best Movies of 2010, yet in another article it was listed as a 2009 movie and Netflix reports it as made in 2008??? Anybody know the real deal?

TRANSFORMATION The Amazing Butterfly A Gift of Inspiration

The Butterfly has been honored worldwide since time immemorial as a symbol of TRANSFORMATION. From ugly caterpillar to the magnificent Butterfly, it emerges from the chrysalis (the cocoon).

As so many of us have DREAMS for our future, the Butterfly represents the processes involved in getting there. She represents LIFE CHANGE so trans-formative, so extreme that in the end we are not even recognizable as our former selves.

She teaches us ACCEPTANCE of the present (no matter how ugly or difficult). She is a symbol of FAITH... faith that the future will be better than the present is now. She encourages patience in moving toward our dreams. Change may be painful or require long ENDURANCE, but change is good. Change is life. Without change, there would be no life.

Still, the process may be stressful or pain-filled, even when it's a good thing.

The Butterfly helps us have PATIENCE through the TRANSITIONS of our lives.

*** BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW***

So today I offer up the BUTTERFLY as pendant or pin. This piece is large. Its wingspan is about 3.5" across and it is about 2.5" high. It's a lovely piece made of Crystals and amber-colored rhinestones with a brass-tone backing. It would be perfect on the lapel of a coat or as an additional (pendant) adornment to a light summer dress... cocktails on the patio!

I have found this piece in diamonds and sapphires on the web for $1488.00...

A Vintage Version of it valued at $249.00...

So my starting price was: $89.99

Price REDUCED from:
$89.99

Diet Cocktail Recipes: Miami Lemonade (a Pink Martini Lemonade) Low Cal Low Carb Low Fat

pink drinkImage by mygothlaundry via Flickr
One of my favorite (original and healthier) COCKTAIL Recipes:

MIAMI LEMONADE (a PINK lemonade!)

1 shot Rum

1/2 shot Gin or Vodka
1/8th shot (a capful) of Amaretto

2 shots Light V8 Fusion Strawberry-Banana Juice
2 shots All Natural Simply Limeade or Lemonade
1/3rd shot KW Knudsen's Lemon Ginger Echinacea Juice (optional)

Nummm!! This drink is great for the middle of the winter. Cuz... it reminds one of those warm southern Florida beaches.

I like to shake mine with ice in my plastic Protein Shaker. I do have an old fashioned large martini shaker but the metal just gets too cold for me. Then I pour it into a martini glass. This drink would be just as good over ice. Cheers!

Movie Reviews: Punch (When Girls Fight) Martial Arts Boxing

Punch to the FaceImage by Ninja M. via Flickr
Cat Fight?
Warning: This film does contain some female nu---y. But nothing really lude... that is if you don't mind seeing it in the ring. Hmm. Maybe it is a little... Anyway, I liked it.

Thought it was clever and fun. And the women were such strong female leads that you don't feel that they are being exploited in any way.

The acting was superb and it wasn't quite as "B" as I had expected. Might have taken itself a little too seriously, though.

Still, I recommend it if you like tough girls and fight scenes (and a little family drama). I think that if it were redone as a comedy it could be quite memorable. As it is, it's just IE for me.
