And her co-star, Scoot McNairy, reminded us of Andy on WEEDS.
The pre-scenes show the possibilities. But then it moves so slowly, with such intensity, that you're still on the edge of your seat. My hat's off to Gareth Edwards (both writer and director). There are continual scapes of destruction, aftermath that forebodes, that makes you wonder... where? when?
A subtle romance that links to a stunning end. Nicely done.
The creatures? Well... let's just say that it's a better remake of H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds", better than Spielberg's 2005 creation with Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning.
Best Line: "I feel like... if anyone were here, we'd smell 'em."
More character study than horror but still... my favorite Sci Fi/Horror so far this year.
